CF: How did you get into cosplay, who did you portray first, and why?

NV: I’d been admiring cosplayers for awhile, and at the time I was doing some alt/pinup type modeling and decided to throw on a Boba Fett helmet during a pinup shoot, and it all snowballed from there.I’ve gone from silly Star Wars inspired costumes right into cosplaying characters from other genres that I’ve admired for ages!

CF: What’s the best part of cosplay?

NV: Dressing up as characters you love! And making the costumes can be both incredibly fulfilling and frustrating as well as meeting all sorts of awesome people!

CF: If you could be any super hero or villain who would you be and why?

NV: Darth Vader. Why? Because you don’t know the power of the Dark side.

CF: If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would you say to them?

NV: My favorite author Laurence Sanders. I’d ask him about his books and where he got his ideas for all the wonderful mystery novels he’s written that have endlessly entertained me.

CF: What’s your favorite sci-fi movie and what captivates about the plot?

NV: The Empire Strikes Back. In the original version (not the remastered version), it’s the first time we see Boba Fett (such a badass), Skywalker isn’t such a whiny ass, Skywalker finds out Darth Vader is his father, the AT-AT scene on Hoth, Han Solo is frozen, no Ewoks. Also Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I could go on and on and onnnnnn about why that movie is so frakkin amazeballs.

CF: What’s the craziest thing a fan sent you or requested?

NV: No one has sent me anything too odd, but someone wanted to pay me for a pair of my panties. Ewww…just ewww…I don’t even..i can’t..just eww

CF: What sidekick would you hire to be your personal assistant and why?

NV: A sidekick should never be a personal assistant!! That’s an insult to sidekicks! LOL! If I needed a sidekick, I’d go with Pinky, and we’d do what we do every night…TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!

CF: What character intimidates the heck out of you, why, and when will you attempt take the challenge to portray them?

NV:The Demon Hunter from Diablo 3. One day, when I have enough time and expertise with worbla, I will make that costume. Oh yes….I will make it…

CF: Do you know a lot about the series you cosplay?

NV: I’m fairly well versed in the characters I cosplay. I only cosplay characters I love and have loved for years. I’m not going to ever claim to be an expert. I don’t know everything about everything.

CF: What’s your favorite comicon to attend and what makes it so special?

NV: Ottawa Comiccon because it is my hometown!

CF: What comicon’s are definitely attending this year?

NV: Definitely Ottawa. Maybe Montreal and New York.

CF: What’s one thing you wish fans wouldn’t do?

NV: I wish they wouldn’t get upset if it takes me awhile to respond to messages. Not everyone is like that, but there have been a few that got fairly upset. Few people realize that this is only a hobby for me, and I have a career, crazy workout schedule and really don’t spend much time on social media.

CF: Who was your favorite character to portray and what rocked about it?

NV: So far it has been the Black Widow. It totally rocked because the costume turned out exactly how I wanted it. I had an image of it in my mind and I made it exactly how I pictured it

CF: How do you keep cosplay fun?

NV: Well, being that it is only a hobby for me, it is always fun for me no matter what. I wouldn’t do it if it weren’t fun. That is what cosplaying is about. It is about having fun. Nothing more, nothing less.
